Vanessa Morey
Vanessa is a passionate therapist who specialises in working with children and families. She has a background in education and psychology, having obtained a BA Degree, a BA Honours Degree in Psychology (cum laude), and a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (cum laude) from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
With nearly a decade of clinical experience in Educational and Child Psychology, Vanessa has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, community mental health, and children's residential care facilities in Ireland and South Africa. She has also worked as a NEPS Psychologist for the Irish Department of Education, providing direct support to children with a range of difficulties.
Vanessa draws on an integrative therapeutic approach, utilizing psychodynamic, humanistic, systemic, and behavioural models. She understands the power of play and uses evidence-based creative psychotherapeutic approaches such as child- centred play therapy, gestalt play therapy, sandtray therapy, and Autplay® when working with children and their parents/carers.
Committed to ongoing learning, Vanessa has completed additional training in Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy, Parent-Infant Psychotherapy, The Narrative Model, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Additionally, she is a certified AutPlay® Therapy Play Therapist.
